How to write AI song prompts in Hindi
The short answer
1. Should you use Devanagari or Hinglish?
One of the most common questions creators ask is whether they need to install a Hindi keyboard to generate authentic songs. The answer is no. Our natural language parser interprets standard Roman Hindi (Hinglish) with high accuracy.
- Hinglish: “Barish mein garma-garam chai aur purani yaadein, acoustic lofi feel with rain sounds.”
- Devanagari: “बारिश में गरमा-गरम चाय और पुरानी यादें, धीमी धुन और हारमोनियम का अहसास।”
Both prompts produce identical musical arrangements and generate lyrics in both Devanagari and Roman transliteration.
2. The 4-step prompt formula
Whenever you compose a new prompt, follow this 4-step framework:
- Subject & Occasion: State clearly who the song is for (e.g., “Mummy's 50th birthday”, “Late-night drive in Mumbai”).
- Emotional Atmosphere: Define the mood: nostalgic (yaadein), romantic (pyaar), playful (masti), or energetic (dhamaka).
- Traditional Instruments: Specifically mention Indian instruments like harmonium, dholak, tabla, bansuri flute, or shehnai to anchor the acoustic arrangement.
- Pacing & Genre: Name the musical genre: Bollywood filmi, acoustic ghazal, monsoon lofi, or Punjabi-Hindi bhangra.
3. Tested, copy-ready prompt templates
“Dadi ke 80th birthday ke liye ek meetha aur aadar bhara Hindi gaana, unke haath ki kheer aur bachpan ki baatein, harmonium aur dholak”
“Monsoon rain in old Delhi, steam from kulhad chai, nostalgic lofi acoustic track with mellow flute and rain crackle”
“Sister ki shaadi ke sangeet dance ke liye high-energy Bollywood dance track, dholak and shehnai, playful ladkewale banter”
“Late-night emotional ghazal about silence and long-distance love, acoustic sarangi, harmonium and soft tabla”
4. Common mistakes to avoid
- Overloading unrelated genres: Requesting “Bhangra plus slow sad ghazal with heavy rock drums” confuses the tempo generator. Keep your prompt to one coherent style.
- Writing prompts over 400 characters: Ultra-long essays make the rhyming engine lose focus on the main chorus hook. Focus on the core emotional sentiment.
- Leaving out instruments: If you don't specify instruments, the AI defaults to standard electronic synth pads instead of acoustic Indian timbres.
